Setting a Credit Limit per Analysis

How to set a credit limit per analysis

In this article you will find:

  • What a credit is
  • What the credit limit of an analysis is
  • How it works internally (product-level)
  • Why setting a limit is useful
  • Where to configure it and how to use it step by step
  • What happens when the limit is reached

What is a credit

In Mailerfind, 1 credit = the analysis of 1 public Instagram account.

Each time the system analyzes a profile (retrieves its data, email, phone number, website, etc.), one credit is deducted from your available monthly balance.

This credit usage resets every month in your account.

What is the credit limit of an analysis

Within the analysis page, in the settings of a specific analysis, you can define a maximum credit limit that the analysis is allowed to consume.

In other words:

  • It is the maximum number of public Instagram accounts that the analysis is allowed to process.
  • Once that limit is reached, the analysis automatically stops consuming credits and is paused.

Example:

  • You configure an analysis with a 200-credit limit.
  • The analysis starts reviewing Instagram accounts.
  • Once it has analyzed 200 public accounts, it stops consuming credits for that analysis, even if it could continue finding more accounts.

What the credit limit in an analysis is used for

The credit limit per analysis has several purposes:

  • Control credit spending

Prevents a very broad analysis from consuming more credits than you want to allocate to it.

  • Better distribute the analysis budget

Allows you to reserve credits for other analyses, campaigns, or periods.

  • Prevent configuration errors

If you configure overly broad filters (for example, a very large follower range or too many countries/languages), the limit ensures that the analysis still stops once it reaches a number you consider reasonable.

  • Provide predictability

You know in advance the maximum number of profiles that will be analyzed for that specific case, and therefore the maximum number of credits you will spend.

Where the credit limit is located

The credit limit is configured:

  • Inside the analysis page, when you are setting up a specific analysis.
  • In the configuration section of that analysis (usually where you choose filters, parameters, and specific execution options).

Key points:

  • The limit applies only to that specific analysis.
  • You can have different limits on different analyses, depending on importance, credit budget, or project stage.

How to use the credit limit step by step

  1. Access the analysis page

Go to the section of the application where Instagram account analyses are configured.

  1. Create or edit an analysis
  • You can create a new analysis.
  • Or open an existing one to modify its configuration.

  1. Go to the analysis configuration section

There you will find fields to adjust filters (followers, countries, languages, categories, etc.) and other advanced options.

  1. Locate the credit limit field

You will see a field where you can enter a maximum number of credits for that analysis.

Remember: 1 credit = 1 public Instagram account analyzed.

  1. Define the limit value

Usage examples:

  • Enter the maximum number of accounts you want to be analyzed.
  • Take into account your total monthly limit and how many credits you have already used in the current period.
  • You are testing a new type of analysis → set a low limit, for example 50 credits.
  • You have a large campaign and want a broad sample → set a higher limit, for example 500 credits, always within your monthly capacity.

  1. Save the analysis configuration

Once saved, the limit will be associated with that specific analysis.

  1. Run the analysis

When you start the analysis:

  • The system will begin analyzing Instagram accounts based on your filters.
  • Each analyzed account will consume 1 credit.
  • When the configured limit is reached, the analysis will stop (it will not continue consuming credits for that analysis).

What happens when the analysis credit limit is reached

When the analysis reaches the configured credit limit:

  • It stops analyzing new accounts for that analysis.
  • No more credits are consumed for that specific analysis.
  • You will be able to see the results obtained up to that point on the analysis results page.

Best practices when configuring the credit limit

  • Start with moderate limits

Especially for new analyses or filters you have not tested before, use a low limit (for example, 50–100 credits) and review the quality of the results.

  • Adjust based on results

If you see that the quality of the profiles is good, increase the limit in future iterations.

  • Take your plan into account

If your plan has a tight monthly limit, it is recommended to distribute credit usage across several analyses with smaller limits.

  • Use the limit as a “safety brake”

Even for large analyses, define a reasonable cap to avoid consuming your entire balance at once.
