Remove a prospect from a campaign

Unsubscribing a prospect from a campaign allows you to prevent them from receiving further emails, whether because they are not interested, have requested it, or you want to maintain a clean and high-quality database.

Properly managing unsubscribes is also key to maintaining good deliverability and following data protection best practices.

When should you unsubscribe a prospect?

Some common cases:

  • The prospect has requested to stop receiving emails
  • They do not fit your target audience
  • They have shown no interest (no opens or replies)
  • You want to avoid overwhelming unqualified contacts

Removing these contacts improves your campaign performance and reduces the risk of being marked as spam.

How to unsubscribe a prospect step by step

  1. Access the campaign

Go to the campaigns section and select the campaign where the prospect is located.

  1. Find the prospect

Use the search bar or browse the contact list until you find them.

  1. Open their profile

Click on the prospect to view their details and then click on "Edit prospect".

  1. Unsubscribe

Click on the “Do not contact” option.

  1. Save changes

Click the “Save changes” button to confirm.

What happens when you unsubscribe a prospect

  • They will no longer receive emails from that campaign
  • They are automatically excluded from future sends
  • They remain in your database (not deleted)
  • They may still appear in historical metrics

Difference between unsubscribing and deleting

It’s important not to confuse these concepts:

  • Unsubscribe: the contact remains in your database but will permanently stop receiving emails.
  • Delete: the contact is completely removed. If you extract them again in the future (for example, in another scraping), the system will treat them as a new contact, so you might include them in campaigns again and send emails without realizing it.

In most cases, unsubscribing is the recommended option.

Best practices

  • Always include an unsubscribe link in your emails
  • Respect unsubscribe requests immediately
  • Keep your list clean of inactive contacts
  • Prioritize lead quality over quantity

This is not just a technical matter—it directly impacts your sender reputation and the deliverability of your campaigns.
